Jonas Stampe (1965), Sweden
Jonas Stampe lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden and Sète, France
Jonas Stampe, artist, critic and art historian, is the originator and
director of the Nordic Biennial of Contemporary Art. He was the curator
of Ideologia I in 2001, and the artistic director and co-curator for
Ideologia II in 2003.
He started his studies in art history in 1984, and began in 1987,
after having moved to Paris, to freelance as an art critic. Since then
he has covered the international art scene for Swedish art-magazines and
newspapers. He is also conducting Ph.D. studies at the Department of
Contemporary Art History at the University of Lund, Sweden and has
studied art theory at l'École des Hautes Études en Science Sociale in
Paris. He is specialized in American and English neo-dada and pop art,
as well as in French art and art theory in the post-war period of
1944-1960, which also is the subject of his Ph.D. |
